Problem
The primary problem Agilent Technologies faced was the difficulty in organizing and presenting their extensive range of product resources to users. With a wide variety of electronic and bio-analytical measurement instruments and equipment, finding the relevant documentation and guides had become a cumbersome task for their customers. The challenge was to create a website that was easy to navigate and ensured that products and associated resources could be easily found by users.

Discovery
While UX addressed the taxonomy of the navigation, I focused on visualizing a content structure that was visually appealing and user-friendly. The designs below represent the initial concept design direction.
Design
Collaborative and Agile Approach
As the project progressed, our team embraced a highly collaborative and iterative approach. We fostered a fast-paced environment where ideas were shared, tested, and refined. Regular meetings, whiteboard sessions, and rapid prototyping enabled us to deliver effective solutions in a short span of time.
The live site ended up being significantly different from the initial design. We promptly recognized that prioritizing clear information cataloging and presentation was more important than having a visually heavy design.
Navigation
Below are some of the navigational components I designed. Special attention went into making sure that content was flexible and could be displayed in any language.
Templates
These are a few examples of templates that I created. Since our team was working in rapid iterations, most of these templates were sketched out as a team on a white board. From there I would design based on our sketches.
Conclusion
The Agilent Technologies website redesign project presented complex challenges, which were successfully tackled through our collaborative and iterative design process. By prioritizing clear information organization over a visually heavy design, we created a website that streamlined content presentation and facilitated easy navigation for users. The project not only enhanced the usability of the website but also fostered a highly collaborative team environment, allowing for faster iterations and effective problem-solving.
